Title: The Perfect Emotion (Perfect #2)
Author: Melissa Rolka
Published Date: February 17th 2013
***THIS BOOK WAS GIVEN TO ME IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***
The story of Kate, Kyle and Reed continues in this second novel of The Perfect Series.
Kate (Katherine) Monroe is finally coming to heads with the decisions she’s made in the past to keep herself distracted at any cost. Learning to move on and forward with the conflicts in her life is harder than she expects though. With Kyle continuing to attempt reconciliation and Kate’s mom back at home, avoiding and running are no longer an option.
All along Kate’s mind and heart are consumed with Reed, but she fights to push her feelings and desires to the side. Despite the obvious pull and connection she has with Reed she finds it difficult to let him in… and trust in herself. However, Reed’s perseverance and patience never wavers and eventually he uses the one thing that had always brought them together… tennis.
As Reed and Kate begin to embark on a new relationship they face the past and the present head on. Along the way, new challenges and emotions arise testing the direction of their future together.
Can Kate forgive herself and trust Reed in order to latch onto the one emotion she needs most… love?
***For Mature Readers 18+***
Kate is being fickle. Yes Yes she is being fickle. OK I will give say confused. She has a right to be. Something BIG happened. If you read the first book you know what the something big is and you really have to read book one to read book two so no skipping around. But I give no spoilers. I just say one thing. Reed still brings it. He is the perfect, protective, alpha male BUT he gives into the gently side that most alphas don’t have. He concedes to her feelings and gives her the upper hand. He allows Kate the opportunity to make the first move. To be the one to make the decision to move forward and the way he does it is so adorable. I think anyway. IT WOULD BE LIKE SOMEONE GIVING ME A BOX FULL OF BOOKS. SQUEAL!!!!
Again, Rolka shows emotion in such a raw and intense way that you zing through the books. BUT you want to throw them at the wall just because they are not your typical happy fairy tale. I want my BOW Melissa!!! My pretty little bow!!! Do you give it to me in the 3rd book?? Huh Huh??? PLEASE??? Regardless of the feeling of anxiety and anticipation, I will still give the book a 4.5 and will be tipping my Nerd Girl hat to you!!!
