Deep Down Blog Tour BannerSynopsis

Mike Haddican is a proud small-town gym owner, a renowned karate instructor, and all-around good guy. He’s never needed much to be happy: his family, his friends, his girl. Especially his girl. But when Kyra left him seven years ago to chase her dreams, she all but destroyed him.

Contemporary dancer Kyra Brims made it big, but it cost her dearly. With her life and career in shambles, she doesn’t need a do-over, she needs a friggin’ miracle. Injured, broke, and out of options after going through hell, she’s come back to Alden, the town she swore she’d never return to and home of Mike Haddican, the man who ripped her soul to pieces, to lick her wounds and recover.

Forgetting and letting go proved impossible when they were worlds apart; now that they’re stuck together they don’t stand a chance, especially with Mike’s grandma and her partners in crime plotting, meddling and refusing to give up on them.

As the passion that never died burns out of control, so do old hurts and unresolved issues. Both have reasons to be angry and feel betrayed, but now that they’re older, are they wise enough to make things work?

I absolutely loved this book and it’s now going in my favorites category so I can read it over and over! It was funny, romantic, hot, steamy, sexy and downright fantastic! Elle Aycart gives the reader a story of two former lovers Mike and Kyra, who on the outside can’t stand each other, but on the inside they’re dying to be together. She also gives you three hilarious meddling grandma’s (the OG’s, Original Grandmas) who not only do karate, but text and scheme to get Mike and Kyra to find the way back to each other.

Mike’s heart is ripped out when the woman he loves, Kyra, leaves him seven years ago to follow her dreams of dancing and making it big. He becomes your typical playboy, chasing woman after woman trying to forget Krya. Nothing works. When he discovers that Kyra comes back to town, Mike tries his hardest to keep away from her and her daughter Sam. That plan is foiled by the OG’s when they get him to pose for their art class and forget to mention that Kyra is also going to be posing for the class with him.

Kyra has problems of her own though. She’s divorced from her scumbag husband and is broke from giving him everything she has in order to keep her daughter Sam. She’s none too happy either that she’ll be posing with Mike in the art class but she manages to get through it. When her daughter gets into some trouble at Mike’s family’s gym, she tries to pay for the damages, but the family doesn’t take her money. Instead, to her and Mike’s horror, they hire her to teach dance and exercise classes for women.

All through the book, both Mike and Krya try to avoid the feelings they have for each other. Mike especially tries dodging her whenever he can, but one moment at the gym, he lets his guard down and they have sex. He’d hoped that once he’d had her, he could get Kyra out of his system. That plan didn’t work so well. You’ll have to read the book to find out why.

There’s more than just Mike and Kyra’s relationship and how they deal with one another; there’s also Krya’s ex-husband Drake. Drake causes a lot of problems in Krya’s life and ruins opportunities for her instead of manning up and taking the fall. I love that I hated him so much. Ms. Aycart did a great job of portraying Drake as the jerk he is.

Kyra’s character is one that I think many women can relate to. She’s trying to follow her dreams and then the plan changes. She’s pregnant and married to Drake, who makes her feel like she’s living a fairy tale. Then it all goes up in smoke. Kyra is such a strong character and she makes it on her own. She literally has nothing, except a house that’s falling apart, but she makes a home for her and Sam. She grows and discovers that she was wrong seven years ago about some of the assumptions she makes about Mike.

Mike is so loveable and hot. He’s covered in tats and did I mention he’s got a piercing down under? He can be loving and gentle, but he’s very dominant in the bedroom. It’s a great mix that works for him. Mike carries a lot of anger and hurt from when Kyra left him. He felt that he wasn’t good enough for her to stick around. He also learns things about the night she left and her feelings that she never had the chance to share. He overcomes his feelings of unworthiness and realizes that all he needs is her to be happy, even it means he has to leave his home to do it. Mike grows a lot in this book and he helps Kyra understand that she’s stronger than she thinks.

So, what happens at the end? Do the meddling OG’s win? To find out, buy the book…trust me, you’ll be glad you did.

After a colorful array of jobs all over Europe ranging from translator to chocolatier to travel agent to sushi chef to flight dispatcher, Elle Aycart is certain of one thing and one thing only: aside from writing romances, she has abso-frigging-lutely no clue what she wants to do when she grows up. Not that it stops her from trying all sorts of crazy stuff. While she is probably now thinking of a new profession, her head never stops churning new plots for her romances. She lives currently in Barcelona, Spain, with her husband and two daughters, although who knows, in no time she could be living at the Arctic Circle in Finland, breeding reindeer.
