Following the death of her uncle, twenty-one-year-old CAITRIONA HAYDEN finds herself in the midst of a trio of quintessential alpha male suitors in 22nd century sovereign America where human females should be seen and not heard.

Theo Pendragon claims her as his ward, ordained to guard her through to a long-awaited destiny unbeknownst to Cait, but finds more than he expected when passion ignites within the dragon for the first time. Always drawn to the pursuit of knowledge rather than the heat of desire, powerful demigod Dante cannot deny everything his future holds in Caitriona. America’s monarch, ancient vampire Corrin, has no interest in the frivolity of love, yet marrying Cait could be the answer to his continued survival.

Soon, Cait goes from studying for college exams to choosing a husband knowing the consequences are eternal, the love undying, and the bond timeless.

It has been a long time since I have read a book that has intrigued me the way that this one did. I started the book wondering if it was going to be another one of those romance books that are so predictable and by the 3rd chapter I was like WOW! Where is this going?!? I loved the character development, the characters themselves and the amount of detail that the author used when describing them to us. She made all of the characters stand out and have a purpose.

The book did not just revolve around Cait and a man….it was several men, however, each person had an important role in the story. Cait is also portrayed as a strong, independent woman who is not just “eye candy”. I love when the lead characters have some back bone and are able to carry a story without making them seem weak and dependent. I also love the fact that romance was not the main topic throughout the book (in a traditional sense) and that sex scenes did not overtake the storyline at all.

The story flowed from one scene to another so smoothly that it was impossible to stop reading at the next chapter because you didn’t want to wait to see what was next in the book.  The writing style was so effortless on the readers part that every once in awhile I would see how much of the book was left because it just continued in a easy, smooth flow of words that I never wanted to end.

This book has it all, mystery, intrigue, comedy, romance, fantasy and even some fighting and bloodshed…this book is the whole package all tied up neat and pretty. There is no way for the reader to predict what will happen next and there are so many twists, turns and surprises that you will be on your toes the entire book.

Be sure to mark it as a “must read” on your TBR list and make sure that you have nothing else on your agenda as you will not be able to put this book down once you start reading it! Once you read the first page you’ll find yourself trying to get to the last page as soon as possible. You’ll devour it.

You’ll become invested in the characters and the world they live in. They will become important to you just like any other friend or family member is. It literally sucks you into the story and you are compelled to find out what happens next!

I am already eagerly anticipating the next book in this series to see what happens next and what it means that Cait is the Northern Star….pick this one up and I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed!
