The main character is Daciana who has fallen in love with Connell an inspector. Good for her you say, but she has a big secret… She is a moonwulf who at the turn of the red moon will fully evolve into Wulfkin, and will have to return to the pack and the role the alpha assigns. Humans don’t know wulfkin exist. Anyone who tells will be put to death.

Daciana has been working to find the recipe for an elixir rumored to turn a moonwulf into a human. But all this research has given Connell doubts and he is beginning to question her, he’s worried she’s lying to him.

While out in the woods Daciana is attacked by a creature she’d only heard of in the books she has been researching – A dracwulf. A hybrid born of a wulfkin and wolf. It is illegal to breed these hybrids and in the past they caused untold chaos hence the strict rule of the whole pack being killed if they create one.

This dracwulf has begun killing humans in the area and she is called to help investigate being an animal specialist. In the space of a few days her life and the secrets she is trying to keep become complicated and bring her under suspicion.

This book was well written and easy to read. It was interesting to read a werewolf story set in Romania and the Carpathian Mountains.

There were things I loved about the book, I liked how strong and determined Daci (her name she used in her human life) was. She resisted the pack mentality.

Connell seemed to be very insecure, always propping up the bar! But I guess being a cop the stresses tend to do that to them?

It would have been nice to have more background on all the characters. It was a bit confusing at times, I felt like I had missed something somewhere, But I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to all werewolf lovers. But over 18+ due to the sexual content.

Can Daciana take out the dracwulf before it reaches the officials and the pack is destroyed? Can she keep her secrets from Connell? Will he still love her if he finds out?

One-click and find out.
