   Synopsis

Eren Anderson thought he could leave his troubles in All Hallows. He was wrong. For teen vampire Eren, his boyfriend Corbijn and best friend Andy, Paris seemed like the perfect place to escape to, but the City of Light has darkness in its heart. While Eren finds himself struggling to deal with the horror he witnessed in his home town and fighting to reign in his power to cast, a surprising new enemy makes moves to destroy the one thing Eren can’t live without – Corbijn. With The Order of Our Mother refusing to help save him, Eren, Corbijn, Andy and Order rebel Tamesis unlock a source of power which hasn’t been called on in over one hundred years.

“The Red Sun Rises: Fire and Ash” is the second book in The Red Sun Rises Trilogy and the sequel to Victoria Kinnaird’s international bestselling debut “The Red Sun Rises”. Join Eren as he challenges The Order, accepts his fate and answers the terrifying question: how far would you go to save the man you love?

Victoria Kinnaird is a wonder. This author has really pulled YA in a totally different direction, and she continues to amaze. The first book was a departure for me. I’ve never read a book focused on a love story between two men, and to be honest? I didn’t even really notice it in the book. The author crafts beautiful storylines, which pull you in and hold you. I loved Eren and Corbijn, their love is wonderful, but Victoria finds a way to make you almost forget your reading a genre defying story, and just lets you enjoy what’s there.

This second book is no exception. I was lucky, I’ve made the author a friend, and got to read this story before its release. This author is no one hit wonder, this follow up is even more riveting then the original. Not only do we get a deeper look at the relationship between Eren and Corbijn, picking up right at the end of the first book, we also get to travel and see new locations, but also we’re introduced to new characters in which bring out new sides to Eren, Corbijn, Andy and even Rayner. Victoria gave us a strong group of core people to follow, and in this book, she gave us new people. I love them! Interesting and diverse is all this author knows how to do, and she did give us new interesting people into our inner circle. There’s a lot of action, I worried about this, the first book had major tension and a giant battle, so how do you keep up the momentum? Well, by throwing them into an even deeper plot, and giving them so much more to discover and adjust.

If you love character driven stories, with strong plots, and great development, with a touch of fun, this is the book for you. Obviously you need to start with book one, and move on to this one, because you really need the basis, but you won’t regret it. Join this series now, before the final book!
