Nerd Girl Katie’s ARC Review

    1 star1 star1 star1 star1 star

As a quick warning, this story is about two men in a relationship so if you are uncomfortable about that type of story this isn’t for you. Even if you don’t usually read a story like that give this one a try because it’s so beautifully written.

This is probably the best love story I have ever read. I read this book in two days because I couldn’t put it down. The characters are so likeable and you really feel that you know them so well and only want the best for them.

The story starts in 1979 with Avery Adams. He’s a 32 year old lawyer with great connections who isn’t out publicly as a gay man but is charismatic, funny, good looking and great at what he does (him being the grandson of the former president helps too.) One day he goes to the restaurant “La Bella Luna” for a quick dinner (and maybe a little fun afterwards with the host.) Everyone is excited for him to be there because it’s great publicity for the restaurant. Kant Dalton, 29, is the owner of the restaurant and has built it up from nothing. His best friend/father figure Paulie is the head chief and together they want to make sure that Avery Adams gets anything and everything he wants. Kant personally goes up to his table to shake hands and welcome Avery to his restaurant. From the moment Avery sees him it’s love at first sight for him. He can’t even talk or move which makes Kant think that he either did something wrong or Avery is unhappy with something. A few days later Avery goes back to the restaurant and after some big tips given to the waiters finds out that Kant is gay also. That night Avery invites Kant over to his place and from then on their relationship starts.

The whole story is about them and their lives together and their love for one another. Even though they are fictional characters you feel the love that they share. It’s such a strong bond and they love each other more then anything. There are a few bumps along the road but together they can handle anything. It’s such a beautiful story and so well written that I didn’t want it to stop. You fall in love with the characters.

Towards the end grab a couple tissues. I had to stop for a little bit because I knew what was going to happen and I didn’t want it to happen. I stopped reading and could not even focus because I was crying so hard at a certain event that takes place. But that’s the beauty of this story that the author draws you in so much that you feel so strongly for these characters. It is worth reading and I definitely give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It’s always a surprise to see what’s coming next!

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it’s true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women’s hair!

Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life – I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations – regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal… I don’t want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I’m going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I’ll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died – weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn’t have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It’s everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness – it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn’t a time she wasn’t there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It’s its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn’t be here today without her.
