Even a match made in Heaven can go awry. THE ARCHANGEL JARAHMAEL AND THE WAR TO CONQUER HEAVEN is the epic three-part story of the Creation of the Universe, told from the perspective of the Angels themselves. The first book of the trilogy, IN THE BEGINNING describes the initial creation and the establishment of the Seven Heavens and the Nine Orders of Angels, but it also tells of the first Humans, Lillith and Adam. Although they are quite literally a match made in Heaven, free will wreaks havoc with destiny when Lillith falls in love with the Archangel Jarahmael. Can love, as the very essence of the Almighty’s Universe, survive free will? Or will love, when exposed to an untethered will, rip the Universe apart, pitting Good against Evil in a battle for all?
Rating: 3.5 Stars
The Archangel Jarahmael & The War To Conquer Heaven was a very interesting read. The attention to detail that this author provides for his readers is stunning!
This book really is quite fascinating. In The Beginning is the first book in a three part series. This particular installment shows how the angels and heavens and living creatures great and small were created. We, the reader, are treated to an up close and personal, front row seats look at how The Almighty created the heavens and the planets and the stars, all from the archangels’ perspective.
And if all of this creation isn’t enough in itself, you also get an epic storyline to go with it. We meet each of the archangels and several of the lower class angels, the fascinating Lilith and Adam (and later, Eve), Serpentalia, and The Almighty himself. All of whom, Jon J. Higgins uses to spin a story about love and hate, good and evil, friendship, betrayal, greed… You name it, it’s in there.
My one and only complaint with this book is that it can get to be a bit of a slow read at times. Though I found the vivid detail to be amazingly thought out, it can be a bit excessive. With that being said, this was the first book in a series and a lot of that detail was necessary for world building.
I would definitely recommend In The Beginning to anyone who is now or has ever been curious about the subject of the heavens and/or creation. I’ll admit, I know very little about the matter and found this book to be extremely intriguing. It’s very well written and I felt as if I were strolling along with Adam and Lilith in beautiful Eden and attending the morning ceremonies with Jarahmael and the other angels.
I will definitely be reading the next book in this series!
