***THIS BOOK WAS GIVEN TO ME IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***
Willow Emery is in the middle of chemotherapy when she literally runs into Asher Wellington on the sidewalk after treatment with a rather unfortunate outcome. She is alone in a new city and doesn’t need anyone in her life. If life has taught her anything it’s that you can’t rely on anyone.
Asher is a young widower, devastated by the tragic death of his wife Olivia three years earlier. He has given up the idea of ever finding the kind of love that he shared with his late wife. Will one fateful day bring two lost souls together? Will taking a chance lead them to a happily ever after or will the challenges they face keep them apart?
***Contains Sex and Adult Situations. Not for young readers***
Take a Chance is a beautifully written love story and must read. From the very beginning the Prologue grabs and pulls on your heart strings, and I prepared myself for what I thought was going to be heavy hearted read with lots of tear and a box of Kleenex. I did not expect the story that I read when I first opened the book. By the second page of chapter one you are drawn into Willow and Asher’s world and you truly never want to put the book down. This love story has devastating events for both main characters and is about trust, loss, illness, recovery, healing, second chances, and the ability to love again.
I do not want to give away spoilers, no more than what the synopsis does. Willow’s breast cancer is intertwined into this story without using too much medical jargon. Asher’s heartbroken loss of his wife 3 years ago and how he struggles with moving on. The way that Olivia, Asher’s deceased wife is there in their dreams to help bring these 2 together, and I just love the way the yellow roses are also used to bring this great love together for Willow an Asher with memories of Olivia.
I loved the way Annalisa wrote this love story from both main characters’ POV, it helps to bring both Willow and Asher to life. The writing style is as if the author has been writing for years. I am giving 5 stars for this love story that gives you hope for finding a second soul mate and is about second chances. I also, loved the epilogue as it gives you the lifetime HEA that you know had to be. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and cannot wait to read the next book.
