Even the devil was once an angel…

Still reeling from a devastating betrayal, and a shaky relationship with Ethan, her Guardian Angel, Samantha reluctantly seeks comfort with Damien – the original fallen, the devil whispered about and part of the original deception of Adam and Eve. She learns of the real reason for his existence – a sad and twisted reason that would force even the most ardent Bible thumpers to show sympathy. He agrees to help Samantha fight Sebastian but what she doesn’t know is there is a price for Damien’s involvement. A price she would never allow. The only problem is, she isn’t the one making the sale.

 ***Shelby, #NerdGirlShelby’s Review***

Wow! I had a hard time reading the first book in this series but this one was amazing! I am actually sorry that it ended. It was really that good. For me, Darkness Betrayed succeeded in all the ways that Torn didn’t.

The Characters were so great. They were really well written this time around. I loved the new additions, especially Damien. Sweet, sexy, dangerous Damien!!

The storyline was interesting and gripping. There were twists and turns all over the place to keep you reading and keep you guessing. the romance aspect of this book was sooo good! Right up until the end, I still had no idea which way I wanted it to go and I’m so glad that Christine Hughes had to make that choice instead of me.

There was one part of this story that really tugged at my heart strings and had me bawling like a baby. I don’t want to give anything away but the part with Samantha and Azrael at the ski resort… tears were shed.

Also, I would like to point out that the ending did not, at all, go the way I expected it to. Talk about a surprise ending! I’m not sure I would have chosen to end the book the same way but that is why I am a reader and not a writer. The fact that it was so unexpected just made it that much better, I think.

I almost gave up on this series after reading Torn but I am so glad that I stuck it out for Darkness Betrayed. I LOVED it and I can only hope that the author is planning on making it a trilogy because I would love to see what happens next for Samantha and the rest of my new friends.
