**Review By Julie From The Nerd Girl Page**
*This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review*
This was an interesting book. I would give the action scenes 4-stars minimum. I have to say that the idea of a part-time zombie as a romantic lead and the number of masturbation sex scenes were a turn off (those aspects of the book were 1-star maximum for me).
The set up of the book felt very much like Beastly, a recent movie adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. Drake, the self-centered womanizer does miraculously become a good guy after eight years of isolation due to being cursed with randomly turning into a zombie. Simone, a romance writer, becomes his love interest.
I found it very hard to believe Simone’s jump in faith with Drake as well as the “we’re in mortal danger but let’s have sex” scenes. There were too many convenient plot jumps when there was no where else to go. Emergency escape routes, newly found voodoo powers, etc.
If the book had focused more on the action, a little on the relationship and a lot less on unsatisfying sex scenes, it would have been much better off.
