***Review By Julie For The Nerd Girl Page ***
***I received this book from the author in exchange for a review.***
I would classify Spellbound in His Arms by Angel Sefer as more of a romantic-suspense/thriller than a romantic-mystery. It is a fun, easy read for the beach or a vacation. The book is set on the Greek island of Corfu. It is filled with lechers, ruffians, beautiful women and ex-special forces hunks. While I find the idea of love at first sight based solely on physical appearance–despite that the characters don’t trust one another–implausible, it is a light-hearted page-turner. I enjoyed the setting and the pace of the book as well as the realistic characters.
The main characters, Jackie and Michael, meet while both sneaking around an abandoned mansion on the island. They keep their agendas hidden from one another while relying on each other to complete their individual quests for justice. There are a few unexpected twists in the story to make it even more interesting.
It is perfect for a quick escape after a hard day or for a short vacation. While not my “go-to” genre of fiction, I am interested in reading more of Angel Seger’s Greek Isles Series.
