Melanie here aka VampireLovingDork back with my review of Double Star by Cindy Saunders which was given to me in exchange for an honest review.
Double Star is a beautiful YA adventure which takes a “not quite so typical” teenage girl and transports her to a whole new world where it quickly becomes apparent she has a destiny to fulfill.
As debut novel’s go this is definitely a good one. Well written and easy to identify characters (with bonus points for David Garrett references) that take on circumstances that would challenge many adults.
The book is a fairy easy read although definitely requires you to pay attention to certain details that pop back up as the story progresses. For that reason I think although the story is easily appropriate for younger teenagers I expect the story would appeal more to the older end of the teenage spectrum and I am certain many adults would definitely enjoy it.
Overall my biggest complaint is that as with so many books we will have to wait until the second installment for some of the answers I really would have liked to have had resolved before this book was complete.
A good pick for fantasy lovers everywhere.
