Melanie here aka VampireLovingDork back with my review of Last Blood (Book 5 In The House Of Comarré Series) by Kristen Painter which I was lucky enough to receive as an ARC as I am on the “House Of Pain” Street Team.
Let me start by saying this was my series find of last year. I haven’t been along for the ride since the beginning but after seeing the beautiful covers I just had to start reading them and I devoured the first 3 straight through and then had to pace around for months waiting for the 4th one to be released.
Last Blood is the 5th and final installment in this particular series and what a story it is. I was a little nervous to start is as I knew that the end was near, there would be no open hanging cliffs this time for me to obsess over until the next one. Finally I would have some of the answers I have been waiting for and this always comes with mixed blessings.
But I shouldn’t have worried. Yet again Kristen Painter takes the story in a direction I could never have seen coming in a million years and yet as I read it I cannot imagine how I ever thought the story could have gone in any other way. None of the “closure” feels forced the way it can when a series is wrapping up and yet nothing was left bugging me that I feel I missed out on.
The story, as with the others is fast paced and action packed and has moments that just make y0u scream at the pages. Heart in throat you are with these characters in every moment, the good, the bad, and the messy.
The book releases on July 30th so if you haven’t started this addictive series yet what are you waiting for??
