**Review By Laura From The Nerd Girl Page**
*I was given this book in exchange for an honest review*
Ealasaid has never known what it feels like to be free, on her sixteenth birthday she tries to run. The devil how has held her captive for years has been waiting for her sixteenth birthday, the day her magic and her aura come into full power. Ealasaid not only doesn’t escape her captivity is worse than anything she has ever endured, she has no voice, no magic, no name and now control over her own body. Years pass as she endures extreme physical, emotional and sexual abuse when one day the devil who owns her brings the wrong customer.
Raven is disgusted that the devil would try to pay him in such a way, when he tries to free the witch there is a connection so strong Raven will do anything to free her.
I enjoyed this story, the magic and the language wasn’t too confusing and the fight scenes were exciting and pulled you in. I sometimes have problems with this sort of story where the girl has been held captive and then she is just fine, within a week or two. Patricia doesn’t do that, Ealasaid’s progress and the trauma she faced through the years been held captive really show in every decision she makes.
I struggled with the main characters name, just rolling over it but besides that I really liked this story, the relationships that progress through the book don’t feel forced and not only is the guy a hero and the girl, but they work as a team both using their strengths when needed.
I look forward to reading the next one!
