** Review By Leah from The Nerd Girl Page**
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
It’s been awhile since I have read a book about witches, and the was a unique twist on an age old concept! Instead of a select few having magical powers, an entire population is born with some kind of power! The main character Alyssa, is strong and courageous, she makes a great female protagonist that will make this a very compelling read for any woman who loves the fantasy genre.
This book is chock full of antagonists, that were once good witches that were driven mad with power. The odds seem to be overwhelming, but Alyssa faces them head on with help from the friends she makes along the way.
The only reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 is because I found it slightly predictable. I figured out what Alyssa must do to regain her life almost immediately. Also the it ended so abruptly I felt like it needed more, another chapter or epilogue. the end just seemed really rushed to me. Other than that, this was a really good read! I found the concept of an all magical world fascinating. If you like paranormal books or female protagonist books you will definitely enjoy this book! Dave Ferraro did a great job constructing this dark magical world!
