Synopsis

When fifteen-year-old Edna Mather tears an expensive and unfamiliar pocket watch off her little brother’s neck, he crumbles into a pile of cogs right before her eyes. Horrified, Edna flees for help, but encounters Ike, a thief who attempts to steal the watch before he realizes what it is: a device to power Coglings—clockwork changelings left in place of stolen children who have been forced to work in factories.

Desperate to rescue her brother, Edna sets off across the kingdom to the hags’ swamp, with Ike in tow. There, they learn Coglings are also replacing nobility so the hags can stage a rebellion and rule over humanity. Edna and Ike must stop the revolt, but the populace believes hags are helpful godmothers and healers. No one wants to believe a lowly servant and a thief, especially when Ike has secrets that label them both as traitors.

Together, Edna and Ike must make the kingdom trust them or stop the hags themselves, even if Ike is forced to embrace his… Continue reading

#IndyAuthorTalk – Ralph Lomuscio on Super Bear!

Collage 2016-03-28 18_26_24-1

SuperBear_Cover1b-1

Hello World,

My name is Ralph Lomuscio and it is nice to meet you! I am a singer/song writer/author and I am about to release my first children’s book, The Adventures of Super Bear: The Quest for Pie. The book is about Theodore “Teddy” Bear, a young bear who likes to pretend that he is a super hero. He has “magical” capes that give him super powers and transfer him into Super Bear. He uses these powers to help people and more often than not, get himself into trouble. He always intends to do the right thing, but frequently finds himself in tough situations and relies on his parents for guidance.

The Super Bear books are aimed toward helping children learn lessons about safety, friendship and the value of family. Teddy Bear lives with his parents, Mama Bear and Papa Bear. They are fun and imaginative. They support Teddy’s imagination and his belief that he is a super hero. They use it to help guide him toward doing the right thing. The books encourage family values that all types of families can support: treat everyone with love and respect.

As an author, finishing my first book and creating a character with his own world has been an incredible experience. I have written many things casually throughout my life, but this is the first step I have taken toward being a professional writer. My artist, Manuel Preitano, has done an amazing job bringing Super Bear’s world to life and the artwork is visually engaging and high quality.

In September of 2016, we will be hosting a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the Super Bear book. It will be a great opportunity to snatch up the Super Bear book, a coloring book, and even a plush doll! We appreciate any and all support! We expect to have all the above products available for purchase in January or February of 2017.
